A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was attacked by a rhino at Whipsnade Zoo in Britain.
The senior zookeeper, who is in his 50s, suffered injuries to the chest, abdomen and pelvis after he was head-butted, stamped on and left bleeding by the 190kg male Asian rhino, called Ajang, according to staff at the zoo, near Dunstable, Bedfordshire.
The man was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.
It is understood the man was in the rhino house to feed the animals when he was attacked. Ajang, a 4-year-old, was moved to a separate area to protect other staff and paramedics.
The man is in a serious but stable condition, a spokeswoman for Magpas air ambulance added.
