Situation:
A ridge of high pressure over Aotearoa/New Zealand slowly moves away to the east today while a series of fronts move onto the western and lower South Island during the second half of the day. Tomorrow, the fronts become slow moving over the South Island. On Sunday, the slow moving fronts over the South Island sink southwards, while an east to northeast flow covers the North Island. A northeast flow pushes across the rest of the country on Monday as a low pressure system to the north and west of New Zealand approaches. On Tuesday, the trough of low pressure moves onto the North Island, and across the South Island. During Wednesday, the trough of low pressure becomes slow near eastern Bay of Plenty, while a front over the Tasman Sea moves over the South Island.
