A southwest flow affects most of New Zealand today while a trough lies over the upper North Island. Southwesterlies gradually ease tomorrow as a high approaches from the Tasman Sea, while the trough moves northwest across Northland. High pressure builds over the South Island on Thursday, while a southerly flow persists over the North Island. The southerly flow weakens on Friday as the high spreads over all of the country. The high remains over New Zealand on Saturday.
