A man has been attacked by a tiger at a Queensland zoo.
Emergency services were called to Australia Zoo on Steve Irwin Way, Beerwah, about 2.45pm yesterday.
The Department of Community Safety says when they arrived they found a man in his 30s with two puncture wounds to his neck. He was breathing, conscious and in a stable condition.
A helicopter took him to hospital.
The man is apparently a trainer at the zoo, which keeps three Bengal and eight Sumatran tigers.
Australia Zoo offers visitors photos with the tigers at 3.15pm every day for $400 a person.
On the zoo's website it has a list of rules for visitors involved in the photo sessions.
"Please remember that big cats are predatory animals and are quite capable of exercising their natural instincts," says rule number 12.
The zoo offers visitors the chance to get close to cheetahs, rhinos, dingoes and wombats. And for $30 you can have your photo taken with a possum.
It also has camels available for riding.
