HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe has named a new lineup of Cabinet ministers that mostly brings old faces to different posts a month after he won disputed elections.
Hardliner Jonathan Moyo, the architect of sweeping, restrictive media laws a decade ago, returns to the information ministry, raising fears of a new crackdown against independent journalists.
State radio reported Tuesday the crucial finance ministry in charge of the troubled economy goes to Mugabe's loyalist former justice minister Patrick Chinamasa and the black empowerment ministry is to be led by the moderate outgoing environment minister Francis Nhema. Veteran loyalists keep the key ministries of defense and justice.
Mugabe announced the appointments at his Harare offices. No former ministers in the last and now-defunct coalition with the opposition were retained.
