Zara ‘awaiting ring’ from rugby star boyfriend 

Zara Phillips led the fashion stakes as the royal family celebrated Christmas at Sandringham. But whether she would wed her rugby star boyfriend was an unanswered question, despite reports she was engaged. The Sunday Mirror said Zara, 23, is waiting until Mike Tindall, 26, buys her a diamond ring in the New Year before announcing the engagement. Friends of the couple told the paper the England player proposed last month.

Zara, daughter of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, met Tindall in Australia after England's victory in the World Cup last year. She had been linked with former All Black winger Caleb Ralph, who spent last Christmas with her.
