Flights in and out of Ireland were to be grounded for six hours late last night as the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud returns.
The Irish Aviation Authority said restrictions would be imposed from 8pm to 2am as a dense plume travels across the island.
The authority said that Ireland falls within the predicted area of ash concentrations that exceed acceptable engine manufacturer tolerance levels.
