SAO PAULO - A Brazilian passenger plane carrying 174 people crashed into a fuel station at Sao Paulo's Congonhas airport.
Airport officials said 174 passengers and crew were on board the Airbus A320 flying from Porto Alegre in southern Brazil when it lost control on landing and skidded off the wet runway.

Suicide bomber kills 13 at Chaudhry rally
ISLAMABAD - A suicide bomber killed 13 people outside a court in the Pakistani capital Islamabad where the country's suspended chief justice was due to speak, police and officials said.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, who has become a symbol of resistance to President Pervez Musharraf's 8-year rule, had not arrived to speak to lawyers at the time of the blast.

Libya lifts death sentences on medics in HIV case
TRIPOLI - Libya has lifted death sentences against five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor convicted of deliberately infecting children with HIV, paving the way for them to be freed after eight years in jail.
The ruling, following a payment of US$1 million each to 460 HIV victims' families, fell short of freeing the medics and removing an obstacle to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's efforts to end three decades of diplomatic isolation.
