Worker killed in platform collapse

One man fell to his death and another was left hanging 20m above the ground after a work platform suspended from a Sydney site collapsed.

They were standing on the platform being lowered from the Maroubra Seals Sports and Community Club on Marine Parade, Maroubra, when one side gave way.

One man fell to the ground while his companion was left dangling from his safety harness.

A window was broken to allow the surviving worker to be pulled inside the club after an hour.
