KEY POINTS:
Hundreds of clergy have said they will consider quitting the Church of England if women are ordained as bishops, according to a report in the UK.
The church, which already allows women vicars, will vote on Friday whether to accept female bishops.
A letter to the archbishops of Canterbury and York - Rowan Williams and John Sentamu - the 1,333 clergy say they will consider leaving if the vote is passed.
The signatories say, according to a report in The Times, that they will accept women bishops only if they have a legal right to separate havens within the Church.
Supporters of women bishops say they will refuse to accept legal moves to dilute the plan.
