A 60-year-old woman who survived eight days after her car plunged into a creek bed in Queensland rainforest smiled and thanked her rescuers, authorities said.
Kathryn Ellacott was found more than a week after her car plunged about 70m in the Paluma Range, 60km north of Townsville.
The mother-of-four suffered broken bones and survived by drinking water from a nearby stream and sheltering under a rock in the bush.
