A 31-year-old Ohio woman who impersonated a 14-year-old boy in order to have sex with a teenage girl has been sent to jail after pleading guilty to a misdemeanour charge.
Patricia Dye of Franklin, Ohio, went by the alias "Matt Abrams" when pursuing the young girl.
A petite woman under 1.5m tall, Dye made her boyish look more believable when she cut her hair into a short, androgynous style, media reports said.
Police started an investigation after the teenage girl fled from a hotel when she discovered that Dye was really a woman - and not the teenage boy she appeared to be.
The girl had run away from home to be with Dye.
"They were boyfriend-girlfriend," reported Sgt. Bob Marchiny to the Dayton Daily News. "(Dye) looks just like a boy."
Dye admitted to posing as a boy after her arrest.
Dye had no prior criminal record. She was sentenced to six months in jail.
