Woman gets 25 years for cheese ball murder

A woman has been sentenced to a maximum 25 years behind bars, over the murder of a Sydney man who had thrown Cheese Balls at her car.

The court heard Sarah May Ward had been drinking and smoking marijuana before the 2008 attack, when she drove her car at Eli Westlake, deliberately running down the 21-year-old and killing him.

The 39-year-old will be eligible for parole in March 2027.
