KEY POINTS:
A woman is in a critical condition after being dragged 150 metres underneath a taxi in Sydney's south.
Police say the woman and a man, both aged in their twenties, had argued with a taxi driver about their fare while being set down at Miranda at about 3.20am.
The man got out of the taxi, but as the woman was following him, the driver allegedly accelerated, trapping her under the car's rear wheel.
She was dragged about 150 metres before the vehicle stopped, police said.
Emergency services were called and the woman was taken with head injuries to St George hospital in critical condition.
The taxi driver was being interviewed by Miranda police.
