A doctor who prescribed addictive drugs to Hollywood stars including Winona Ryder on a "cash and carry" basis has been ordered struck off.
Jules Mark Lusman charged thousands of dollars for frequent house calls to celebrities in which he would examine them only briefly before prescribing drugs, the Medical Board of California said.
The Santa Monica physician catered to "the demands of wealthy and famous drug-seekers for prescription narcotics which would otherwise have to be obtained on the street", the board's report said.
