WASHINGTON - A screaming intruder was subdued at gunpoint on the White House grounds while President George W. Bush was at home.
The man, unarmed and wearing a T-shirt that said "God Bless America," scaled the fence and ran on to the front lawn, yelling "I am a victim of terrorism," before Secret Service officers chased him down. Secret Service spokesman Eric Zahren described the suspect as "someone known to us ... who has jumped the fence in the past."
A dozen members of the White House emergency response team surrounded the man on a patio.
He was handcuffed and led away.
