A British Columbia woman angry at plans to evict her from an assisted-living facility shot a staff member in the parking lot and then was shot by police responding to the gunfire.
Both the woman and the staff member were in serious condition after being airlifted to hospital, Canada's Globe and Mail newspaper reported.
The woman was in a wheelchair when she shot the building manager outside the Good Samaritan Christenson Village in Gibsons, northwest of Vancouver.
It was not clear why she was being evicted.
