SYDNEY - A woman has been charged after a wheelchair bound woman was unwillingly pushed through a shopping centre in Sydney's outer west and robbed of items including about A$500 ($640) cash.
The 40-year-old woman was with her carer at a Mount Druitt shopping centre on Friday, when another woman pushed her away while her carer was preoccupied, police say.
While pushing her through the shopping centre, on the corner of North Parade and Carlisle Avenue, the wheelchair bound woman allegedly had property including A$500 cash stolen from her.
Following the incident detectives arrested a 34-year-old woman at the same shopping centre about 3pm on Tuesday.
They had been alerted she was there by security staff.
The woman, from Bidwell, in Sydney's outer west, was charged with stealing from a person and "fraudulent appropriation".
She was granted conditional bail and will appear at Mount Druitt Local Court on December 8.
