A street appeal and an open air concert are planned for next week in a bid to raise money for the typhoon stricken Philippines.
Organised by Wellington's Filipino community, all funds collected from the appeal and concert will be shared between international charities Red Cross, UNICEF and Caritas.
"Words cannot express our heartbreak as news of the suffering and loss continues to trickle through," said Rolyn Demafelis, Typhoon Haiyan Philippines Appeal spokesperson.
"We have lost loved ones, but we have not lost hope. We are appealing to Wellington to help us and our families at this terrible time."
Collectors will hit the streets of the capital on Thursday, November 21, from 7am to 9am, 12 to 2pm and 4 to 6pm.
