US ordnance experts have left for Bougainville Island to determine the extent of risk from deadly unexploded weapons used 66 years ago during a pivotal World War II battle on the Pacific island.
The State Department said the delegation from the Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement was requested by the Government of Papua New Guinea.
