PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) An opposition leader says he's been told that authorities have dropped an arrest warrant in a murder case he says was concocted to silence allegations of corruption.
Lawyer Andre Michel said Thursday a judge told him the warrant had been lifted, but Michel did not say why.
Michel says he'd brought a case alleging corruption in the government of President Michel Martelly before authorities tried to link him to a 2010 murder.
He went into hiding for a time, and was just returning to public view last month when police detained him for refusing to cooperate at a traffic stop.
That led supporters to force their way into a courthouse and free the man, who also leads a small political party. Opposition lawmakers in congress denounced his detention.
