An indicted war criminal who lost his attempt to become president of Indonesia now hopes to rule a resort town - if he can kick out the farmers who claim ownership.
General Wiranto, the former armed forces commander who campaigned for the presidency as the man of the little people, plans to develop a luxury resort in Sukabumi, on the West Java coast, saying it is his contribution to solving Indonesia's employment crisis.
He was indicted by East Timor's courts for engineering the army-backed violence which destroyed much of the territory after it voted for independence from Indonesia in 1999. At least 1500 people were killed.
