WARSAW, Poland (AP) An attempt to oust the mayor of Poland's capital has failed because not enough people turned out to vote.
The Sunday referendum was called by a member of the opposition nationalist Law and Justice party.
The State Electoral Commission said Monday the vote to oust Mayor Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, a member of the ruling Civic Platform, was invalid because only 25.7 percent of voters showed up. A minimum required was 29 percent.
