Currency trader John Rusnak pleaded not guilty yesterday to fraud charges linked to a major bank scandal involving the United States unit of Allied Irish Bank, a Baltimore court official said.
Rusnak, an Allfirst Bank employee, was indicted last week on charges of hiding nearly US$700 million ($1.45 billion) in losses.
No trial date was set. If found guilty, he faces up to 30 years in jail and US$1 million in fines.
