United States soldiers yesterday opened fire on a wedding in the Iraqi city of Fallujah where guns were being fired in the air. They killed a 14-year-old boy and injured four other people, including two women.
Witnesses said the soldiers were driving in a convoy about 11pm local time and apparently thought the celebratory gunfire was aimed at them. They opened fire at the wedding and at passers-by.
A US military spokesman in Baghdad said he did not yet have any information on the incident.
Fallujah, west of Baghdad, has been the site of many attacks on US soldiers.
