A submarine carrying cocaine worth an estimated US$352 million ($510 million) has been intercepted by United States authorities off the coast of Central America.
A US Customs and Border Protection spokesman said the vessel - only partially visible from the surface - was spotted by a surveillance plane 482km southwest of the Mexico-Guatemala border and was carrying about five tonnes of cocaine.
