An American naval officer has serious injuries after trying to jump from a 10th floor balcony of a Perth hotel into a swimming pool.
Guests heard a disturbance between a man and a woman from the naval ship USS Carl Vinson at 1am on Monday before the man jumped.
ABC has reported that the man landed in 1.3m-deep water and suffered a broken leg and internal injuries.
It's believed both were heavily intoxicated.
The man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
