A foreign submarine spotted spying off the Israeli coast by the military last November was American, Israel's Channel Two TV has reported.
The submarine was on a spy mission in the sea across from the northern Israeli city of Nahariya when it was discovered by Israeli naval intelligence. It turned around and left the area after it was spotted, according to a report published on November 15.
The unsourced Channel Two report identified the submarine as American. US officials had no immediate comment.
