Up to 20 dead in Sri Lanka bus attack

COLOMBO - Up to 20 people were feared killed in a mine attack on a civilian bus in central Sri Lanka today, police said.

"There were 50 people on the bus including schoolchildren," police Deputy Inspector General Kingsly Ekanayake told Reuters."

He did not say who was responsible for the attack, which took place in the central Anuradapura district. The army has blamed Tamil Tiger rebels for similar attacks on military buses.
