A United Airlines jet returned safely to Denver Airport yesterday after a bird was sucked into one of its engines shortly after takeoff for San Francisco.
The engine continued to operate and the second engine wasn't affected, an airline spokeswoman said.
The decision of the Boeing 757's pilot to return to the airport was a precaution.
