LONDON - Police arrested a third person today in connection with the murder of a teenager who died after being attacked by a gang in east London, Scotland Yard said.
The 14-year-old boy is being held at an east London police station and will be questioned over the murder of Paul Erhahon, also 14, in Leytonstone on Saturday.
Two others, aged 13 and 19, were arrested on Saturday and remain in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Horne said he believes a large group of youths was involved in the attack on Erhahon and his friend, who is critically ill in hospital.
Officers have appealed to anyone with any information to come forward.
Friends said Erhahon was a music fan who had wanted to become a top rapper.
"I knew Paul from birth," read a message left on the tribute website gonetoosoon.co.uk from a family friend called Ali. "I can't believe he has gone, he was always so positive about life and looked on the bright side of things."
Police in London are investigating a spate of murders of teenagers in recent months that have raised fears over a violent gang culture in the capital.
