LONDON - British police arrested a man in connection with a probe into suspected attempts to buy weapons for possible use in international terrorism.
They said in a statement they arrested the 28-year-old man on a road near South Mimms service station in Hertfordshire, just north of London.
He was being held at a police station in the capital on suspicion of "the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism".
Police said the arrest was part of a continuing inquiry, without giving further details. A police source said the arrest was not connected with the London bombings in July.
