LONDON (AP) Police say a man suspected in bomb attacks near three British mosques has been arrested on suspicion of murdering an elderly Asian man.
West Midlands Police said Sunday the 25-year-old suspect was arrested because of a suspected "further act of terrorism." The stabbing death of Mohammed Saleem happened as he was walking home from a mosque on April 29.
The suspect is one of two Ukrainian men being questioned by police investigating explosions near mosques in central England. No one was injured in those attacks.
One of the blasts came on the same day as the funeral of British soldier Lee Rigby, who was killed in broad daylight by alleged Islamic extremists on a London street. That slaying in May triggered a spike in religious tensions in subsequent weeks.
