LONDON (AP) A man suspected of plotting the slaying of his wife on their honeymoon has won the right to appeal his extradition to South Africa to face trial.
Shrien Dewani is accused of organizing the killing of his 28-year-old bride Anni, who was shot to death as the couple travelled in a cab on the outskirts of Cape Town three years ago.
The 33-year-old Dewani denies the charges and has been fighting removal to South Africa for months. His lawyers argue he is not fit to stand trial because he suffers from post-traumatic stress and depression.
A court ruled in July that Dewani should be extradited, but on Tuesday three judges at Britain's High Court granted Dewani's appeal, citing outstanding legal issues to be reconsidered.
