One of the world's biggest tyre companies may have the answer to puncture problems - a tyre that doesn't need air.
Polaris hopes to have the tyre on the market next year. It recently bought Resilient Technologies, which developed the airless tyres for military and off-road buggy use. But Polaris has been so encouraged by the project's progress it wants to make the tyre available to the public.
The tyre's core is a honeycomb web of hexagon-shaped rubber which prevents it from collapsing.
