Typhoon Cimaron, the strongest storm to hit the Philippines in eight years, roared through the north of the country yesterday, shutting schools and public offices, grounding flights and triggering flood warnings.
Cimaron slammed into Luzon Island as a category five storm. Last night it was a category four typhoon packing winds of about 175km/h.
