A desperate search has ended in tragedy after emergency services found the body of a missing toddler on a rural Queensland property.
Queensland Police led the search after Ruby, 2, was reported missing on the 1500 hectare Tara property, in the state's Western Downs region, at about 3.30pm on Monday afternoon.
She was last seen patting the family's dogs when she disappeared.
The frantic search included the assistance of the QPS Dog Squad, Polair, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, State Emergency Services, and local members of the public.
Police divers arrived at the scene about midnight and the girl's body was located in a dam at the property just after 1am.
