Four workers arrested for allegedly pocketing coins tossed into Rome's Trevi Fountain have been released without charge.
The gang were detained following months of surveillance by police assigned to watch over the landmark. Police said the men worked for a firm contracted to collect the coins but were pocketing the change.
Italian news agencies said the four were let go because no one pressed charges and the prosecutor did not have a case.
