Around 50 tourists have fled to Fiji's main island, Viti Levu, after their exclusive resort island was commandeered by land rights protestors.
Protestors took over the Turtle Island resort in the Yasawa islands northwest of Nadi yesterday, but deny being linked to the coup led by George Speight.
An employee at the resort says the mainly Australian and American tourists were ferried off the island this morning, and taken to Nadi airport.
She says the protesters are still on the Island, but says this morning's evacuation was trouble-free.
