Veteran Tongan democracy campaigner Akilisi Pohiva was seized last night by the kingdom's police and taken into custody, his family said.
His son Po'oi Pohiva and a democracy campaigner in next month's general elections, Isi Pulu, were also held.
Last month, Pohiva published claims that King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV had a secret offshore bank account containing at least $US350 million ($848 million).
