Three earthquakes last night shook Indonesia, China and the Pakistan-Iran border.
The Indonesian quake was the largest, at 6.2 on the Richter scale at its epicentre in the Indian Ocean off the southwestern tip of Java. In China, a moderate shake, of around 5.6, hit Qinghai province. And amagnitude 5.1 quake struck the Pakistan-Iran border, about 1200km west of the northwestern city of Peshawar.
There were no immediate reports of injuries in any of the quake areas.
