A third uninvited guest gained access to a White House state dinner in honour of the Indian Prime Minister, the United States Secret Service has admitted.
The service had already faced embarrassment over the admission of Michaele and Tareq Salahi, Virginian socialites, who talked their way in without tickets to the first state dinner hosted by Barack and Michelle Obama at the White House.
The new intruder, who was not identified, travelled from a Washington hotel with the Indian delegation and arrived at the dinner with the group.
There is no evidence the person had contact with the President or First Lady.
