The mother of WikiLeaks creator Julian Assange says she is worried he will not get a fair trial following his arrest in London.
In an exclusive interview with the Sunshine Coast Daily, Christine Assange said she was worried about political interference in the legal action against her son.
Mr Assange was arrested for alleged sexual assaults in Sweden.
"There is no fair play here," Mrs Assange told The Daily from her home near Noosa on the Coast.
"My son has come forward of his own free will to face the charges against him and they have put him in the ring with his hands tied behind his back."
Mr Assange was denied bail in a London court. He is fighting an attempt to extradite him to Sweden.
