Suspected terrorists have been carrying out training exercises in some of England and Wales' most popular national parks, the Guardian reported, citing unnamed security sources.
Undercover detectives, believed to be from London's Metropolitan Police's anti-terrorist branch, have been monitoring groups of around 20 men, some of whom have known terrorist connections. They have been carrying out their exercises, which did not involve explosives or weapons training, in the Lake District, in northwest England, and investigators have apparently built up evidence to be passed on to government prosecutors.
The Guardian reported that none of the suspects were believed to be related to last Thursday's arrests.
