KEY POINTS:
BRISBANE - Terri Irwin and Australia Zoo are reportedly being sued for $A2.5 million ($NZ2.8 million) over two mysterious business transactions.
News Ltd newspapers today said Steve Irwin's widow was facing dual court actions over contracts she knew nothing about.
News Ltd said a firm called Alyssa Treasury Services Ltd lodged a writ in Melbourne on November 22 demanding $A2.5 million from the Australia Zoo and the Steve Irwin Family Trust, a year after the Crocodile Hunter died.
Lawyers for the firm lodged another writ on December 7 seeking $A60,000 from Terri Irwin personally.
The legal actions involve an intricate web of companies and the writs against Mrs Irwin and the Australia Zoo refer to two contracts allegedly signed on their behalf promising to pay money to other firms, News Ltd said.
Mrs Irwin's manager John Stainton -- who was also Irwin's business partner -- told News Ltd he had "no bloody idea" about the lawsuits.
The four firms mentioned on the court documents are Australasian Custodians Ltd, Providential Trustees Ltd, Avowal Administrative Attorneys Ltd and HQZ Argentum Ltd.
Irwin died after being stabbed in the chest by a stingray barb in September 2006, leaving his widow Terri in control of the family zoo on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
