A 13-year-old Sydney boy is recovering from being shot in the back of the head with an air rifle, police say.
Emergency crews rushed to a house at Marayong in Sydney's northwest about midday (AEDT) yesterday where ambulance officers treated the boy's small wound.
"As a result of a number of inquiries police attended another house in Quakers Road that afternoon and spoke to a 19-year-old man," police said in a statement.
Officers seized an air rifle from the man's property and after questioning, charged the 19-year old with six offences including discharging a firearm in a manner likely to injure a person and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was refused bail and is due to face Blacktown Local Court today.
