A teenager has had his CD collection seized after annoying neighbours by playing Adele too loudly.
Thomas Alcock, 18, of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, played the singer's hits at such a piercing level in his flat that the staircase next door was vibrating, Huddersfield magistrates were told. "It was impossible to relax and watch TV," said prosecutor Samantha Lawton.
Alcock admitted to four breaches of a noise abatement order he had been served in November last year.
Magistrates made a forfeiture order for all of his music equipment despite the fact that Alcock, who was not represented in court, said he wanted to keep his 200-strong collection of CDs as many belonged to his late father.
He was fined £110, and told to pay £140 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
