A 16-year-old girl has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a female teacher and another student at a Townsville school.
The two students were in class at Townsville Community Learning Centre at Munndingburra when a fight broke out between them, with one of them pulling a knife.
The Townsville Bulletin reports that the teacher, believed to be in her 50s, tried to break up the fight and was stabbed. She suffered some wounds to her arm, while the student suffered minor injuries to her back.
District Duty Officer Senior Sergeant Matt Lyons told the Bulletin it was not known whether the child brought the knife into the school or whether it was school property.
He said it was too early to tell whether charges would be laid against the girl.
