Australian Federal Police say the group smashed up the ground floor of the O'Malley building on Saturday night, as protesters attacked five other Syrian embassies in Europe and the Middle East.
Three Syrian embassy staff were inside at the time. They were unhurt. Syrian Charge d'Affaires Jawdat Ali said the protesters destroyed furniture and stole computers.
Six people were arrested in London after demonstrators stormed the embassy there. In Athens, police said 13 people were detained after forcing their way into the Syrian Embassy.
In Germany, 20 people forced their way into Syria's Embassy in Berlin and damaged offices, police said.
