Sydney man critical after suburban shooting

Sydney police are searching for two people after a 23-year-old man was shot several times in the city's south-west.

Police were called to Siena Close, Prestons, about 10.25pm yesterday, where they discovered the man with multiple shot wounds to his chest and head.

Investigations are continuing, but police believe the man was shot at the front door of a premises.

Two people in dark clothing were seen leaving the scene after the incident. It is believed they left in a vehicle.

No description of the vehicle is available at this stage.

A number of other people were home at the time of the shooting.

The man was taken by ambulance to Liverpool Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
